Chapter I — The Welcome

Welcome to Barbarossa Mykonos.

A hidden observatory in Mykonos Town, just above the iconic Windmills.

Above the old Mykonos town and the Aegean horizon lies Barbarossa — a restaurant and sunset bar inside Tharroe of Mykonos hotel, where the island unfolds slowly from daylight to candlelight.

Chapter II — The Observatory

The hill that observes Mykonos.

Legend says the pirate Barbarossa once used this elevated point as a lookout — scanning the horizon for ships, weather and the turning light. Today, the same panoramic view becomes your own observatory: a place to watch the island slow down, from the windmills to the open Aegean.

Take the spyglass.

Three live cameras from our hill let you observe Mykonos as a pirate once did — ships entering the Old and New Port to the north, the sun falling toward Delos, Syros and Gyaros to the west, and the quiet bays of Ornos, Naxos and Paros to the south.

Chapter III — The View

Tharroe of Mykonos pool terrace overlooking the Aegean, windmills and old port

By daylight, the island unfolds.

Blue Aegean, whitewashed Chora, the windmills, distant islands — the calm rhythm of Mykonos seen from above.

By evening, the horizon turns to gold.

Candlelight, silhouettes and the glow of the Aegean as it slips into the sea.

Inside Barbarossa

A Greek table since 1997.

Interior rooms that hum with candlelight, an exterior terrace open to the Aegean, a pool deck for slow afternoons, and a cocktail bar that runs into the night. Our cellar gathers refined Greek wines from selected estates across the country — paired with a contemporary Greek kitchen that has been quietly evolving since 1997.

Chapter IV — The Cuisine

Greek soul. Mediterranean grace.

Fresh ingredients, simple gestures, attentive service. A relaxed, refined kitchen rooted in Greek tradition and the clean light of the Mediterranean — far from the noise of the harbour.

Olive oil, herbs, sea salt, fire. Nothing more is needed.

Chapter V — The Sunset Bar

Colours of the sunset.

Golden-hour cocktails, low music and lounge seating that turns toward the horizon. The hour when the island slows down.

Signature pours

Crafted cocktails, candlelit terrace, the slow swing of the island.
